Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a relatively new and minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure for the treatment of fine lines to improve skin texture, acne scars, reduce the appearance of pore size and improve of the skin’s overall appearance and youthful look.
During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-traumas to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Because the micro-trauma is only occurring where the needles enter the skin, the healthy skin surrounding the treated area will help to accelerate the healing process.
The benefits of Micro-needling are a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, younger-looking skin and reduced signs of aging. Micro-needling also has a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars, stretch marks and generally creates a fresher appearance or glow to the skin.
Micro-needling can be used on all parts of the body; Face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
We can also preform Micro-Needling in combination with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for additional benefits.
Each follicle produces hair for 2 to 6 years and then takes a break for several months. While the hair follicle is in its rest phase, the hair falls out. There are around 100,000 follicles on the scalp, but because each follicle rests at a different time and others produce hairs, hair loss is usually unnoticeable. More noticeable hair loss occurs when there is a disruption to the growth and shedding cycle, or if the hair follicle is obliterated and replaced with scar tissue.
